Redbud Studios is a fully-integrated production and distribution company founded by a team of film industry veterans. Our executives have vast experience in distribution, producing, directing, writing, and acting. We know filmmaking. And we know a good film when we see one. Our mindset is unique. We are disrupting the traditional distribution model by alleviating pain points of the independent filmmaker; Better terms, transparency, collaboration, and most importantly, integrity.
MARKETING AND RELEASE STRATEGY
The Redbud Studios marketing and release strategy is distinctive, providing a fully customized campaign tailored to each film. We collaborate with the independent filmmaker every step of the way; from the trailer, key art, and marketing campaign, to the release strategy of the film.
Independent films are often a small cog in a big machine, making it a challenge to get the attention your film deserves. At Redbud Studios, our strategy is to release only 2-3 films per month, which allows us to commit detailed attention to your film.
FEES
Traditional distribution fees off the top can be huge, at times including hidden additional sub-distribution fees. Traditional distributors win, period. Whether a film succeeds financially or not – the independent filmmaker is the only one in a position to lose. With Redbud Studios, all fees are inclusive of sub-distribution fees.
CAPPED VERIFIABLE EXPENSES
All expenses will be capped at a mutually agreed upon amount. These expenses will be actual out of pocket costs to bring your film to market. We don’t charge any overhead, and if the expense cap is exceeded, Redbud Studios will absorb it. The filmmaker will have access to any and all expenses incurred.
CASH FLOWS
Vague reporting, hidden expenses and slow paying is a huge pain point for many independent filmmakers. The Redbud model is different. From the first quarterly report to the last quarterly report during the term, revenue will flow directly to you via a dedicated CAM account. You will be paid punctually for every quarter your film is in the market generating revenue.
REPORTING
Reporting can be too vague, with unexplained expenses, and not timely. The Redbud model is different. You’ll receive transparent, on-time quarterly digital reports that detail how your film is performing in every window, with clear illustrations of fees and expenses.
TERMS
Independent filmmakers, at times, have to give their film rights away for up to 25 years. The Redbud model is different. We believe in our ability to keep acquiring great films long-term, so we offer shorter terms, no longer than 7 years, to give you more control for the full life of your film.
FOREIGN FORECASTS
Redbud provides foreign territory forecasts for each film, giving the filmmaker a comprehensive overview of how it will potentially perform in the international market. Redbud has representation at most of the major film markets, such as Berlin, Cannes, AFM (American Film Market), Toronto (TIFF), Sundance, SXSW.
